Don't Run Out Of Shields
My entry for olcCodeJam 2024 - The theme was "RUN". In typical jam fasion, I bit off more than I can chew. This game required physics, geometry interaction and a fully customised level editor (which took the bulk of the time). Since the editor is considerably more complex than the game - you can play with it as a prize for beating the game!
Control your exploratory craft and find a way to escape from the planet. Simple controls, tricky gameplay, but actually quite fun.
- W / UP - Thrust Up
- A / LEFT - Thrust Left
- D / RIGHT - Thrust Right
- Mouse Aim and Fire
Controlling The Editor
Select layers with the buttons on the right. The opacity of the layers can be changed with the slider. "Object" layers only allow editing of objects. Use mouse to select them and move them about, rescale them etc. "Scenery" layers only allow editing of scenery. Select the scenery item and use the mouse to move it about.
With an object or scenery selected, press TAB to edit the vertices.
On Either layer you can create new items with "T" for triangle, "F" for fan and "S" for strip. Fans and strips will need completing with the right mouse button.
The editor can do other things too, but thats enough for now lol...

sigh, after fixing that bug, realised i'd disabled teh instruction screen lol - fixed now
Added a quick bug fix, to make orbs respawn after death - sorry!
